Get That Body Right Fitness Challenge: Part II Cutting Calories Sucks!

My friend and I have entered into a fitness challenge. Today is the beginning of the second week. The challenge will run through April 26, 2014 with the final results on Sunday April 27th. At stake? A mani/pedi. This past week I have been cutting calories. I previously was eating way more calories than a human being should be eating in one day. I’ve cut my consumption down to about 1420 calories per day. This has been extremely difficult because I LOVE to eat. I’m an emotional eater. I eat when I’m stressed, depressed or anxious. Who am I fooling. I eat when I’m happy, indifferent, or bored. I just eat. A lot. But when I eat I don’t eat because I’m hungry. I eat for pleasure. Food soothes me. Calms me. Like a best friend. This past week has taught me that I really shouldn’t be tying my emotions into food. So, in order to save calories, I haven’t had any cookies, cake, or Haagen-Dazs Vanilla ice cream. I’ve also felt hunger, which isn’t good. So this week I am focusing in on eating filling foods that aren’t calorie dense. I will be eating more leafy green veggies, brown rice and sweet potatoes.
